Skater Warmups:
We've scheduled a 1 hour and 45 minute warmup session for all contestants, between 8am-9:45am. Use of elements will be an honor system, and on a first-come, first-serve basis. This schedule is subject to change, so keep your eyes peeled for an email next week with final details!
Load-in and Parking:
We have a number of excellent vendors and partners, including Moxi Roller Skates, S1 Helmets, Pigeon's Roller Skate Shop, Impala Skates, Wicked Skatewear, Blood and Thunder, Anticlique Zine, Muse Skate Co. and more! Load-in for vendors begins at 8am. The driveway to Etnies is a hill, but loading out/in should be fairly level and straightforward. There is free street parking on Rancho Parkway, just around the corner from Etnies. Or, they have told us that folks can park in the Home Depot lot across the street without issue. Skaters and spectators may also park in either of these spots.
Food:
Our friends at Nudae Coffee will be vending cold coffee and beverages in the morning, starting at 9am! We have a Kabob truck that includes vegetarian and vegan options, starting at 12pm. And we've got an ice cream truck showing up in the afternoon, just when we all need a good cool-down. And, there are quite a few fast food options around the park, including El Pollo Loco, Starbucks, and more.
Sun:
Etnies is mostly full-sun! We do have a few Pop-Up tents, but come prepared for sun. We're going to make sure we have shade and plenty of ice and water for the skaters.
Social Media/Pictures:
We *definitely* want you to promote your presence at the event! Tag @cibcrew and @etniesskatepark on IG, and use #Rollpocalypse as a hashtag.
Spectators:
Got friends? Do they love to watch skating? Invite them! It's free to watch! Not near Lake Forest? DogDays has generously stepped in to help us set up a live stream, so even folks far away should be able to watch Levels 2 and 3 competition. Stay tuned for more deets on how to watch!
Hydration:
We're encouraging hydration, and will have water and ice for skaters. Alcohol is not allowed at Etnies, but you are welcome to bring your own cold beverages and snacks!
Prizes:
We've got some excellent prizes in store for Rollpocalypse! First place winners of Level 3 park and street get $400 + a pair of these awesome collab skates made by Kid Ace. Level 2 winners get $300 + some sweet swag, and Level 1 winners get $200 each, plus more swag!
Everyone who competes gets a Rollpocalypse gift bag! We're grateful to sponsors who've offered to kick in some cool prizes. We currently have 55 athletes signed up to skate with us, with spots for several more available!
We'll be sending out more in the next few days, so stay tuned!
